Work Schedule: 5/40    Monday – Friday    Occasional weekend and evening work required.

RESPONSIBLE TO:    Director of Graphics and Marketing

GENERAL STATEMENT:
The Graphics Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the daily operation, print production, administration, and supervision of the University-Student Union Graphics Department. The Graphics Coordinator is also responsible for creating and maintaining the University-Student Union website.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic student body and staff.
• Bachelor degree from a college or university in a related field required. Four years of full-time experience in graphic design may be substituted for degree.
• One year experience in student services, graphic design, and print production required.
• Knowledge of and skill in adapting critical issues of web design and graphics design.
• Ability to develop and coordinate all visual aspects of web advertising and promotions.
• Experience in Flash, Dreamweaver and Adobe Creative Suite applications on Macintosh platform required.
• General knowledge of HTML, Java Script, and PHP language.
• Ability to supervise and work with students on a daily basis.
• Organizational and coordination skills required.
• Knowledge of and skill in budgeting and fiscal management preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems, draws valid conclusions, and develops alternate recommendations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:        

• Assists in daily administration and supervision of the graphics department staff.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining the U-SU website.
• Assists in develop and design of the procedure manuals for the department and the U-SU annual report, handbook, and reports as needed.
• Assists in developing, training, and evaluating graphic artists.
• Coordinates, assigns, and monitors student assistant graphics projects.
• Assists in print production.
• Maintain all images and artwork archives for the department.
• Assists in reviewing and copyediting all promotional materials produced by the department including flyers, posters, brochures, and administrative/procedure manuals.
• Writes and provides copy for advertisements, press releases, public service announcements, and the website as needed.
• Designs graphics projects for the U-SU as needed.
• Maintains and administers work order requests, service contracts, and billing for graphics services rendered.
• Assists in monitoring the department budget.
• Assists in researching and developing short and long-range marketing proposals for the U-SU.
• Maintains department project portfolio and prepares monthly report of progress.
• Attends bi-weekly Graphics Department meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, hours to be arranged.

Introductory/Training Period: One month, with possibility of extension.

General Statement: Under the supervision of the Director of Cross Cultural Centers, The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing a comprehensive schedule of programs and events which enable and facilitate cross cultural awareness and interactions. As part-time student employees of the Cross Cultural Centers office, the Cross Cultural Program Coordinators work as a team in developing students’ cross cultural perspectives by addressing issues of oppression, marginalization, and differences in programs, services and events. The Program Coordinator of the Women’s Resource Center coordinates the services of the center, develops long and short term programs and events focusing on gender issues, sexual orientation, and empowerment of women.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with team of Program Coordinators to plan a comprehensive schedule of culturally focused and cross cultural programs and events. Ensure that program topics link the needs and issues of the four Student Resource Centers;
• Develop publicity and marketing strategies for programs, events, and the Student Resource Centers;
• Attend and participate in scheduled weekly staff meetings; schedule and attend bi-weekly one-on-one meeting with Director and/or Assistant Director of CCC office;
• Attend all scheduled U-SU and CCC training sessions and meetings;
• Schedule regular meetings with Resource Center volunteers; schedule regular program planning meetings with volunteers and interested members of the CSULA community, including students, student organizations, staff and faculty;
• Serve as liaison with CCC affiliated clubs and organizations;
• Community building within Student Resource Centers.
• Work with team of Customer Service Assistants and Volunteers to ensure a safe and friendly environment for all students within the Student Resource Centers;
• Maintain and monitor Resource Center services and policies; make recommendations for improvements;
• Assist in the development and monitoring of the Resource Center’s budget;
• Provide basic listening services for students, and referrals to campus and community resources;
• Evaluate programs and events on a timely basis;
• Develop collaborative relationships with community organizations;
• Assist the Director & Assistant Director with special projects as requested;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Working knowledge and interest in gender issues, sexual orientation, feminist theory, and empowerment of women;

• Awareness of the concerns, pressures, and inequities of women, people of color, and people with diverse sexual orientations;
• Ability to advocate and serve as an ally for the above mentioned groups; willingness to create alliances among students from different backgrounds and experiences;
• Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities;
• Ability to communicate clearly with the public, both in written and spoken forms;
• Basic computer skills and knowledge, including internet and MSWord.

General Statement: The Xtreme Fitness Membership Attendant assists with the effective operation of Xtreme Fitness.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides exemplary customer service to the University community
• Receives and screens a high volume of telephone and walk-in inquiries
• Handles cash payments, cash drops, and responsible for accurate cash control
• Enter member information in database
• Register members for Xtreme Fitness classes
• Provide information to members about programs, policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Willingness to be enthusiastic and provide exemplary customer service
• Proven interpersonal communication and demonstrate effective organizational skills
• Ability to answer multi line phones

• Maintains project folder and approval log sheet.

• Attends bi-monthly Graphic Department meetings.
• Writes monthly report of progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Prior work experience in graphics design or printing field is required.
• A portfolio of sample work is required.
• Willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic student body and staff.
• Ability to develop and coordinate all visual aspects of advertising and promotion.
• Knowledge of fundamental design, layout, and type faces.
• Must have knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign.
• Efficient in Macintosh platform preferred.
• Proven communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
